The Plant is headed by a General Manager. Each department is led by Principal Head of Department, Chief Heads of Departments, subordinate officers and a workforce of over 2,800 employees. The main business is the manufacture of cast wheels, forged axles and assembly of wheel sets to meet the domestic demands of the Indian Railways, non-railway customers, private wagon builders and exports. RWF characteristically exceeds production targets set by Railway Board, year after year. The Production Outturn for the financial year 2024-25 is (i) 98,350 Wheel Sets, (ii) 2,01,150 Wheels and (iii) 93,865 Axles resulting in a Sales turnover of Rs.2,318.57 Crores. The Sales Outturn for the financial year 2024-25 is (i) 98,630 Wheel Sets, (ii) 39,439 Wheels and (iii) 20,648 Axles, the Total Sales turnover being Rs.2507.68 Crores.
