 Functions and Duties of Medical Department

  1. Fulfilling the administrative requirements in Rail Wheel Factory.
  2. Provision of Quality Healthcare service to the Railway beneficiaries including RELHS( Railway Employees Liberalised Health Scheme) through Railway Hospital  & when required, through Referral Medical Services to the Empanelled Private Hospitals ;
  3. Timely and effectively upgrading the available Curative service in tune with the latest & modern technologies within the resources available to Railway/PU;
  4. Establishing effective base for prevention of diseases and prompt Health Promotion services including Industrial Health.
  5. Taking effective measures to promote  Small Family norms amongst  Railway population;
  6. Ensuring adequate physical standards of the Employees at the time of recruitment and also during their periodical check-up;
  7. Provision and maintenance of ARME(Accident Relief Medical Equipment), including First-aid boxes, to give prompt relief to passengers injured in Railway Accidents;
  8. Attending the passengers injured or taken seriously ill in Trains or at Railway Stations, on payment, under certain circumstances;
  9. Regular training inputs to Medical and Para-medical staff including C.M.E (Continuing Medical Education) & deputation to Professional Conferences  for updating their knowledge and skills;
  10. Providing medical treatment to outsiders, on payment, under certain circumstances; and
  11. Combining & Maintaining Efficiency with Courtesy and Empathy.
