Functions and Duties of Security Department
|
The main function of RPF at RWF is to provide physical security to assets of the factory 24/7. RPF/RWF, is safeguarding and protecting the RWF which is contributing the Indian Railways and any disruption in RWF will have direct bearing on the working of Indian Railways. Such a prestigious RWF with assets of Rs. 3000 crores (approximately) is being guarded by RPF.
The security establishment at RWF is divided into three components viz security of the plant, security of the administrative block and security to two residential colonies i.e. East Colony which houses Gm bungalow, ORH, RWH club, water plant, and West Colony including Railway Hospital/RWF.
Security at the plant has Five beat points viz A, A-1, HSDJ, D gate, E gate, Traction Sub-station/RWF and wall patrolling.
